French Open Day 14 - Finals Preview!

(1)Serena Williams USA vs (2)Maria Sharapova RUS

Serena and Maria will face off in the 2013 French Open final.
After, 13 days of great tennis at the 2013 French Open, we have finally reached the final on the women's side. Williams has been absolutely dominant on her way to the final, only being tested once in the quarterfinals against Svetlana Kuznetsova. Sharapova has been looking solid as well, easing her way to the quarterfinals before pulling of three setters against Jelena Jankovic and Victoria Azarenka. Williams will be extra motivated to win her second French Open title after not even reaching the semifinals since her 2002 title run. Sharapova will be looking to defend her title and keep hold of her #2 ranking. Williams leads Sharapova 13-2 in their matchups, and has won 12 straight. Sharapova has not beaten Williams since 2004, and has never beaten her on clay, including a drubbing at this year's Madrid Open 1-6, 4-6. However, Sharapova can take some confidence as she did take a set off of Williams this year in Miami breaking a 13 set losing streak to Williams. She eventually lost by a bagel in the third set. Nevertheless, if Williams is half as good as her 6-0, 6-1 drubbing of Sara Errani in 46 minutes in her semifinal, Sharapova will have to come up with something special to beat Williams. In the end, I think this match will come down to execution and the person who dictates the points will win the match. So the question is, who can do this better?

Prediction: Williams in 2 tricky sets
