AEGON International - Final!

Elena Vesnina looks for her second career WTA title.
As usual, the grass court season brings its share of upsets. The AEGON International in Eastbourne was no exception. Top seeded qualifier Jamie Hampton and 36th ranked Elena Vesnina will face off in this year's final. The depth of the draw was amazing, as Hampton was forced to qualify despite entering as the 41st ranked player in the world. Hampton started off with a surprise upset over top seed Agnieszka Radwanska, whom she lost to earlier this year in straight sets. After defeating Hsieh Su-wei, she edged Lucie Safarova and former world no.1 and fifth seed Caroline Wozniacki in 2 epic three-setters to reach the 2013 final. Hampton's win over Wozniacki was her third top 10 win, all achieved in her past three tournaments: Petra Kvitova at the French Open, Radwanska here, and now Wozniacki. Vesnina has also had her share of upsets. She upset 7th seed Ana Ivanovic in 3 sets before going on to defeat home favorite Heather Watson in 3 sets. Then she rounded into even better form picking off 2nd seed Li Na and Yanina Wickmayer in straight sets to reach the final. Vesnina will certainly be the fresher one after a 6-2, 6-0, rout of Wickmayer, but Hampton has been in amazing form this week, despite playing long matches in the main draw. Vesnina will be more experienced as she has been in 7 previous WTA finals (though only winning 1-this year in Hobart). This final will come down to execution and who can be more consistent.

Prediction: Hampton in 3 sets
