French Open Day 10 - Women

(4)Agnieszka Radwanska POL vs (5)Sara Errani ITA

Agnieszka Radwanska
Both Radwanska and Errani have had fairly easy paths to this quarterfinal. Only Errani was pushed in her last match against Carla Suarez Navarro. Radwanska leads 6-1 in her matches against Errani. Radwanska dominated Errani in their last clay court meeting in 2012 Madrid winning 6-0, 6-1. However, a lot has changed since then. Errani reached the Roland Garros final, the US Open semifinal, and pushed Radwanska at the WTA Tour Championships for nearly 3.5 hours. Keep in mind that Radwanska is also a first time quarterfinalist at Roland Garros and that clay is her least comfortable surface. Errani absolutely loves clay and is her best surface as shown by her results. 6 of Errani's 7 WTA titles have come on clay. This is a toss-up, but I think Errani's clay court prowess will pull through.

Prediction: Errani in 3 grinding sets

(1)Serena Williams USA vs Svetlana Kuznetsova RUS

Svetlana Kuznetsova
Williams continues to dominate the 2013 season, extending her winning streak to 28 straight matches. However, her next opponent has given her trouble in the past. Williams and Kuznetsova have met 8 times, with Williams winning 6 and Kuznetsova winning 2. However, Williams' wins over Kuznetsova have been far from easy. All six of her wins went to 3 sets or to extra games (7-5 or 7-6). Also, Kuznetsova famously upset Williams in the quarterfinals during her run to the 2009 French Open title. Can Kuznetsova cause the big shocker again and repeat 2009?

Prediction: Williams in 2 tough sets
